FAQ
Aluminum dock questions, answered.
- Do aluminum docks get hot?
- Aluminum reflects more sunlight than wood or composite, but bare frame members can warm up in direct sun. We pair every dock with ThruFlow, cedar, or aluminum panel decking so the walking surface stays comfortable underfoot — ThruFlow in particular vents heat and water through the deck.
- Do aluminum docks need to be removed in winter?
- On most Saskatchewan lakes the answer is yes — ice movement will damage any dock left in. Our sectional aluminum docks are built to be pulled. Adjustable legs with wheels make rolling sections off the water a one- or two-person job in the fall.
- How much do aluminum docks cost?
- Our standard 4'4 x 15' welded aluminum dock section starts at $2,750. Final price depends on length, decking choice (ThruFlow, cedar, aluminum panel), accessories, and whether you need a floating or fixed-leg configuration. Send a layout and we'll quote it.
- How do I clean an aluminum dock?
- A garden hose handles most of it. For algae or waterline buildup, scrub with mild soap and water — no harsh acids or steel wool, which can mark the aluminum. ThruFlow decking rinses clean from above without lifting panels.
- How is an aluminum dock installed?
- Sections bolt together on shore, then get walked or rolled into place. Adjustable legs level each section from the deck top with a drill or ratchet — wheels for hard bottoms, sand pads for soft. Floating dock configurations use the same frame with float drums underneath.
